Washington, DC – Today, the House unanimously passed H.R. 8753, which would direct the United States Postal Service (USPS) to include unique zip codes for certain communities, including North Tustin, an unincorporated community and census designated place in California’s 40th District.
U.S. Representative Young Kim (CA-40) is a cosponsor of the bill and spoke on the floor in support of the bill. Watch her remarks HERE.
The bill passed out of the House Committee on Oversight and Reform with unanimous and bipartisan support.
“North Tustin has long been a pillar of California’s 40th District, but its status an unincorporated area creates confusion. A unique zip code for North Tustin would provide certainty for residents who have called the community home for decades and clarity for USPS and surrounding areas,” said Congresswoman Kim. “I thank the House Oversight Committee for including our North Tustin community in this bill, residents that have advocated for a unique zip code for years, and my House colleagues for supporting its passage. I will keep working to get this across the finish line for North Tustin residents.”
