Address: 18700 Ward St, Fountain Valley, CA 92708

Amount of Request: $368,000

Description: The existing Emergency Operations Center (EOC) is outdated and unsafe because it was built in 1982 and was not built using essential facility codes standards. This means it fails to meet building code requirements we see for other essential facilities such as a police or fire station. Rather than build a new facility, MWDOC is seeking funds to build a mobile EOC in order to provide emergency management services wherever they may be required. A mobile EOC contains numerous radio and IT systems on-board that provide interoperable communications and incident management functionality to a multi-jurisdictional response environment. Once on-scene personnel will assist in determining needs, creating a communications plan, and deploy and operate equipment necessary to meet the planning objectives.
