Washington, DC – Today, the House Oversight Committee passed out of markup H.R. 8753, which would direct the United States Postal Service (USPS) to include unique zip codes for certain communities, including North Tustin, an unincorporated community and census designated place in California’s 40th District. Rep. Kim is a cosponsor of the bill.

“North Tustin has long been a unique community in California’s 40th District and is a census designated place, but its status as an unincorporated area can cause confusion. Providing North Tustin with a unique zip code will create certainty for residents who have called North Tustin home for decades and clarity for tax purposes, to surrounding areas and USPS,” said Congresswoman Kim. “I thank the House Oversight Committee for working with me to ensure North Tustin is included in this bill. I’ll keep fighting to ensure this bill crosses the finish line for our North Tustin community.”
“The people of North Tustin are not represented, serviced or permitted to vote in Santa Ana elections, yet are still subject to this sales tax, solely because of their zip code,” said Don Wagner, Chairman of the Orange County Board of Supervisors. “This is taxation without representation. On behalf of the people I represent in North Tustin, I applaud Congresswoman Kim for her work on behalf of the taxpayers.”
