Internships

Thank you for your interest in serving as an intern in my congressional office. I am pleased to offer students this unique educational opportunity to participate in the legislative branch of government. We offer internship opportunities in both our Washington D.C. office and the District Office in California’s 39th Congressional District. Typically, these internships last for either spring term, summer term or fall term.

Our internship program is designed to provide students with an understanding of the core functions of a congressional office, including responding to constituent inquiries, researching legislation, developing public policy, and observing the legislative process firsthand by attending committee meetings, hearings, and a variety of lecture series.

DC Summer Internship: Applicants must be enrolled in college with a minimum 3.0 Grade Point Average and possess excellent writing and computer skills. Preference will be given to residents of California's 39th Congressional District; however, all applications will be considered. Summer interns are responsible for their expenses, including transportation and lodging costs, and are eligible to receive a stipend.

Spring Internship Application Deadline: December 1st

Summer Internship Application Deadline: April 1st

Fall Internship Application Deadline: August 1st
