Thank you for your interest in serving as an intern in my congressional office. I am pleased to offer students this unique educational opportunity to participate in the legislative branch of government. We offer internship opportunities in both our Washington D.C. office and the District Office in California’s 40th Congressional District. Typically, these internships last for either spring term, summer term or fall term.

Our internship program is designed to provide students with an understanding of the core functions of a congressional office, including responding to constituent inquiries, researching legislation, developing public policy, and observing the legislative process firsthand by attending committee meetings, hearings, and a variety of lecture series.

Washington D.C. Fall, Winter, and Summer Internships: Applicants must be enrolled in college with a minimum 3.0 Grade Point Average and possess excellent writing and computer skills. Preference will be given to residents of California’s 40th Congressional District; however, all applications will be considered. All interns are responsible for their expenses, including transportation and lodging costs, and are eligible to receive a monthly stipend. The applications for Spring 2025 Internships in our DC office are due by December 1, 2024 and applications for Spring 2025 internships in our District offices are due by December 1, 2024.
