Washington, DC – Today, U.S. Representative Young Kim (CA-39) voted with her colleagues in support of a bipartisan continuing resolution to fund the federal government through December 3, 2021 at levels negotiated by the previous administration:

“I voted with my colleagues on a bipartisan continuing resolution at funding levels negotiated by the previous administration to fund vital federal government priorities through December 3 of this year and avoid a costly shutdown. I’ll keep fighting for a responsible budget that funds vital priorities in the long-term and ensures American taxpayer dollars are spent efficiently without raising taxes,” said Congresswoman Kim.

Among other priorities, this funding bill includes:

  • $28.6 billion for disaster assistance and recovery;
  • $1.8 billion for the Department of the Interior and Forest Service for storm and wildfire recovery efforts;
  • $145 million for repair and replacement of observing assets, marine debris removal, restoration efforts, and improvements in hurricane forecasting and wildfire prediction;
  • $1.2 billion for the Small Business Administration’s disaster loan program to assist businesses and individuals recovering from disasters;
  • $200 million for the Bureau of Reclamation to address drought in the Western United States;
  • $10 billion for the Department of Agriculture to assist farmers and ranchers who suffered losses from droughts, derechos, hurricanes, wildfires and other natural disasters; and,
  • $6.3 billion for assistance for Americans left behind in Afghanistan.
