Rep. Kim Receives NFIB Small Business Guardian Award

Sep 15, 2022 | Press Releases, Small Business

Washington, DC – This week, the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) honored U.S. Representative Young Kim (CA-39) with the Federal Guardian of Small Business Award for her commitment to pro-growth policies on the House Small Business Committee.

“As a small business owner, I know that the policies created in Congress have a real impact on entrepreneurs’ ability to keep their businesses running,” said Rep. Kim. “I’m proud to lead common sense solutions and support small business owners while reducing burdensome regulations. Thank you to NFIB for this recognition, and I’ll keep fighting on behalf of entrepreneurs in the Southern California communities I represent and across the nation.”

“The NFIB Guardian of Small Business Award is presented to Members of Congress who have proven themselves to be real champions of small business. This Congress, small businesses emerged from the COVID-19 pandemic but faced continual threats of inflation, workforce shortages, and supply chain disruptions. These NFIB Guardians demonstrated strong support of small businesses on key issues. NFIB is unique in that we only represent small and independent businesses, and our members decide our policy positions. We are proud to recognize the elected officials from the 117th Congress who earned this distinction by taking pro-small business votes that supported an extension of the Paycheck Protection Program and opposed tax increases, new mandates, increased legal liability, and problematic employment law that would have threatened Main Street’s economic recovery. NFIB commends Rep. Young Kim on being named a Guardian of Small Business,” said NFIB President and CEO Brad Close.

For more than 75 years, NFIB has been advocating on behalf of America’s small and independent business owners. NFIB’s prestigious Guardian of Small Business Award is reserved for legislators who vote consistently with small business on the key issues identified by small business owners. Those who voted with small business on key issues 70% or more of the time during the 117th Congress earned the NFIB Guardian of Small Business Award. Learn more HERE
