WASHINGTON D.C.—Today, Congresswoman Young Kim (CA-40) voted in support of H.R. 9497, the Water Resources Development Act (WRDA) of 2026 to authorize Army Corps of Engineers projects that improve water infrastructure, strengthen flood protection, and support local water supply for communities nationwide.
WRDA includes local projects Rep. Kim advocated for, including:
- Authorizing $20 million under the Environmental Infrastructure Account for Santa Margarita Water District’s Integrated Local Water Supply and Conveyance Project; and
- Directing the Army Corps of Engineers to expedite completion of the Westminster-East Garden Grove (WEGG) Flood Risk Management Project in Orange County to the maximum extent practicable.
