WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Representative Young Kim (CA-40) voted to advance the three-bill minibus appropriations package and standalone Homeland Security appropriations bill for fiscal year 2026 to strengthen U.S. military superiority and national security, revitalize America’s health and workforce, modernize U.S. transportation infrastructure, and secure America’s borders.

With the passage of these bills, Congress will fully fund the federal government for Fiscal Year 2026. This provides certainty for service members, first responders, small businesses, and families who rely on stable and predictable government operations.

 “This final set of funding bills we passed today strengthens our national security, invests in a healthier and more skilled workforce, modernizes critical infrastructure, and improves public safety,” said Rep. Kim. “By passing these last set of minibus appropriation bills, Congress is finally getting back to the regular order of business and can move away from wasteful stopgap measures. That’s how our government is supposed to work—delivering the certainty, stability, and fiscal accountability that Americans count on.”

The three-bill minibus appropriations package and Homeland Security appropriations bill includes key priorities to:

Bolster U.S. Military Superiority and National Security:

Invests $839.2B to strengthen U.S. military capabilities, enhance counternarcotics and national security efforts—including preparations for the upcoming World Cup and Olympics—and provide robust support for key allies like Taiwan and Israel.

Revitalize America’s Health & Workforce:

Redirects tax dollars away from federal bureaucracy and ideological programs, putting it to work on medical research, rural healthcare, and workforce training that deliver real results for American families.

Securing America’s Borders

Funds $64 billion to defend the nation against the threat posed by terrorists, criminals, and foreign adversaries.

Modernize U.S. Transportation Infrastructure:

Modernizes $102.9 billion package modernizes U.S. infrastructure, strengthens transportation safety, cuts wasteful spending, and invests in national security and American industry.

The final minibus package also includes Community Project Funding priorities requested by Rep. Kim for California’s 40th District, including:

  • I-5 Improvement Project (I-405 to SR-55) – $1,700,000
  • State Route 91 Eastbound Corridor Operations Project – $3,000,000
  • Savi Ranch Parkway Road Improvement Project – $3,000,000
  • State Route 55 Improvement Project – $3,000,000
  • Mission Viejo Fire Station #9 Renovation – $1,000,000
  • Fire Station 3 Improvement Project – $1,000,000
  • Santiago Canyon College Career Training Infrastructure Expansion Project – $1,000,000
  • Oso Creek Trail Accessibility Improvement Project – $500,000
  • Chino Hills Fire Risk Reduction Project – $1,628,000
