As you may know, federal government funding ran out on October 1, causing a shutdown of the federal government.

I recently voted for a clean, bipartisan government funding bill to keep our government open until November 21, 2025, but the proposal was blocked in the Senate.

Despite the shutdown, my office and I remain committed to serving California’s 40th District and will continue to support our community with federal casework at this time. While many federal agencies may have slower response times and minimal staffing, we can still submit requests and advocate on your behalf.

If I can help you in any way, my offices in Washington D.C., Anaheim Hills, and Mission Viejo remain open.

Additionally, if you have a question regarding casework with a federal agency, you can reach out to my office by visiting my website at youngkim.house.gov or by calling (714) 984-2440 or (202) 225-4111.

To help you stay prepared, I’ve gathered important information on the government shutdown and how it might affect you. Essential services, like Social Security, will continue even as Congress works to resolve this issue. In the meantime, federal agencies are preparing plans for how they will handle a shutdown.

Frequently Asked Questions

VA hospitals and benefits continue, but some administrative and regional office services may be limited.
