WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Congresswoman Young Kim (CA-40) introduced the No More Shielding Corruption and Misuse in Spending (SCAMS) Act to establish a Federal Fraud Interagency Task Force to investigate fraud involving federal dollars, strength coordination across agencies, and recover misused taxpayer funds.

“From employment scams to AI-generated ghost students, California has more flavors of fraud than Baskin-Robbins,” said Rep. Young Kim. “Enough is enough. I’m leading the No More SCAMS Act to investigate, expose, and bring fraudsters stealing taxpayer dollars to justice. We must deliver this bill to President Trump’s desk and hold Newsom accountable and return what is rightfully owed to the American People.”

The No More SCAMS Act directs the President to establish the Federal Fraud Interagency Task Force within 90 days of enactment and appoint a Director with at least 10 years of experience in fraud investigation or federal law enforcement. Members of the Task Force must be subject matter experts in federal financial management, fraud detection, forensic accounting, or related fields.

The Task Force would:

  • Investigate fraud involving federal dollars;
  • Coordinate with state and local law enforcement;
  • Strengthen interagency data and resource sharing;
  • Develop best practices and training programs to prevent fraud; and
  • Integrate and leverage existing federal anti-fraud initiatives.

To ensure transparency and accountability, the bill requires annual reports to Congress detailing investigations, prosecutions, funds recovered, and fraud trends, as well as annual audits by the Government Accountability Office.
