Washington, DC – Today, U.S. Representative Young Kim (CA-40) received CARE’s Global Hope Award.
This award is presented to one Republican and one Democrat annually in honor of International Women’s Day on March 8 who use their position in Washington to uplift the voices of women and girls around the world.
“Humanitarian aid can truly save lives and expand opportunities around the world, especially for women and girls, and the success of women and girls is the world’s gain,” said Rep. Young Kim. “I’m honored to receive CARE’s Global Hope Award and will continue to speak loudly in Congress on behalf of women and girls around the world.”
“CARE is honored to recognize two members of Congress annually – a republican and a democrat – as our Global Hope Award honorees, each of whom use their position in Washington to lift up the voices of women and girls around the world. Congresswoman Young Kim knows that maintaining the United States’ leading role in the international community is essential for a more peaceful and prosperous world. She is committed to bipartisan support of accountable international assistance, and it is my distinct honor to present her with CARE’s Global Hope Award,” said Michelle Nunn, president and CEO, CARE.
