Washington, DC – Today, U.S. Representative Young Kim (CA-40) was sworn-in by Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (LA-04) to serve as representative for California’s 40th District in the House of Representatives during the 119th Congress.
“I am humbled to be able to serve California’s 40th District in Congress,” said Rep. Young Kim. “There is much to do to get our country on the right track, and I look forward to getting back to work to expand on my record of effectiveness and be an independent fighter for my constituents. My team and I are just getting started delivering results for our Southern California communities and our country.”
Rep. Kim’s record has been repeatedly ranked among the most effective members of Congress and received the 2024 Newsweek-Stubblefield Institute Civility Award for her commitment to bipartisanship and civil discourse.
Since arriving to Congress, Rep. Kim has:
- Returned more than $25 million back to taxpayers from federal agencies;
- Gotten more than 40 bills out of the House and 17 bipartisan bills signed into law;
- Helped more than 5,600 constituents receive assistance with casework;
- Attended hundreds of public events; and,
- Recognized more than 80 Vietnam era veterans and spouses for their services.
