Washington, DC – Today, U.S. Representative Young Kim (CA-40) joined Reps. Michael Guest (MS-03), Julia Letlow (LA-05), Chris Pappas (NH-01), and Abigail Spanberger (VA-07) to introduce a bipartisan resolution commemorating National Police Week and honoring law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty.
“Our law enforcement officers put their lives on the line every day to keep our communities safe. With 136 law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty last year, supporting our law enforcement and their families is more important than ever,” said Rep. Young Kim. “I will always be a loud voice for our brave men and women in uniform and fight to ensure they have the tools and training they need to do their jobs.”
This resolution is supported by the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund, the Fraternal Order or Police, the International Association of Chiefs of Police, and the National Association of Police Organizations.
Rep. Kim has secured vital resources to support our local law enforcement’s work and introduced bipartisan bills to:
- Directly assist local law enforcement agencies to hire law enforcement officers and help with community policing and training; and,
- Improve information sharing between local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies to help address organized retail crime.
