Washington, DC – Today, U.S. Representative Young Kim (CA-40) voted in favor of H. Res. 1061 – Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2024, a package of six appropriations bills for Fiscal Year 2024 that funds key priorities while saving taxpayers more than $200 billion over the next ten years.
“Delivering for my district is my top priority,” said Rep. Young Kim. “This commonsense bill reduces our federal deficit, protects key programs like veterans’ care and our national defense, and provides resources for several local projects I fought for. I am glad to vote yes on this package and will keep fighting to get our country back on the right track.”
Included in these bills are funding for initiatives vital to the people of California’s 40th District that Rep. Kim fought to secure, including:
- $4 million for the Riverside County Transportation Commission’s State Route 91 Eastbound Corridor Operations Project;
- $4 million to the Orange County Transportation Authority for SR-91 Improvements;
- $3.4 million for Orange County’s Opioid Prevention Plan;
- $3 million to the Orange County Transportation Authority for the OC Loop – Segments A and B;
- $1.75 million for the Orange County Water District’s PFAS Treatment Plants project;
- $1.5 million for the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Body Camera and Taser Equipment;
- $1 million for the East Orange County Water District’s Advanced Metering Infrastructure Project;
- $1 million for the Santa Margarita Water District’s Mission Viejo Brine Line Construction project;
- $906,000 for Mission Viejo’s Public Safety Operating System;
- $825,000 for Orange’s Public Safety Enhancement Program;
- $750,000 for the Serrano Water District’s Smith Pump Station Upgrades Project; and,
- $731,000 for Waymakers’ Strengthening Human Trafficking Collaboration for Victims Encountering the Criminal Justice System.
