Rep. Young Kim

Washington, DC– Today, House Indo-Pacific Subcommittee Chairwoman Young Kim (CA-40), House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul (TX-10), Indo-Pacific Subcommittee Ranking Member Ami Bera (CA-06), Rep. French Hill (AR-02), and Rep. Madeleine Dean (PA-04) released a statement on the 112th Taiwan National Day.

In April, Chairman McCaul led a bipartisan Congressional delegation with Reps. Kim, Bera, Hill, and Dean to Taiwan.

“We wish the people of Taiwan a Happy National Day today! We were glad to have the opportunity to travel to Taiwan this year, and enjoyed the hospitality, warmth, and good food. Taiwan is a vibrant democracy, and it’s up to all democracies to ensure Taiwan remains free and open. We will continue to support Taiwan on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, including the timely delivery of arms sales and strengthening U.S.-Taiwan trade and investment ties,” the members said.
