Rep. Young Kim

Nov 18, 2022 | Press Releases

Washington, DC – This week, the House Committee on Oversight and Reform passed two bills led by U.S. Representative Young Kim (CA-39) to rename post offices in Yorba Linda and Placentia in honor of local fallen heroes who paid the ultimate price while defending our freedoms.

H.R. 6630 would rename the post office at 1400 N Kraemer Blvd. in Placentia after U.S. Army Private First Class Jang Ho Kim, a Valencia High School graduate who made the ultimate sacrifice in Iraq.

H.R. 6631 would rename the post office at 4770 Eureka Ave in Yorba Linda after U.S. Marine Corps Sergeant Major Robert J. Cottle and Lance Corporal Rick J. Centanni, Yorba Linda residents and brothers in arms who lost their lives together in Afghanistan.

“While PFC Kim, SgtMaj Cottle and LCpl Centanni left us too soon, their lives were not lived in vain, and they live on through their loved ones, others they inspired to serve and all those who share their stories,” said Rep. Kim. “We can enjoy our everyday freedoms because of those who have answered the call to serve, and I am thrilled we are one step closer to preserving their stories for future generations. I will always work hard to honor the service and sacrifice of our fallen servicemembers and their Gold Star families.”

Both H.R. 6630 and H.R. 6631 are backed by the entire California congressional delegation.
