Placentia, CA – U.S. Representative Young Kim (CA-39) received the 2022 Medicare Advantage Champion Award from the Coalition for Medicare Choices for her work in Congress to support seniors and protect access to health care.
“Every day I fight for our seniors and the benefits they have earned,” said Kim. “I’m proud to work to support the nearly 30 million seniors enrolled in Medicare advantage plans, prioritize patient choice, lower costs and improve the quality of care. I am honored to receive the 2022 Medicare Advantage Champion Award and will always be a loud voice in Congress for our seniors.”
“The Coalition for Medicare Choices and our California members are grateful for Representative Young Kim’s (CA-39) continued support for Medicare Advantage, and we are proud to present her with a 2022 Medicare Advantage Champion Award. Medicare Advantage delivers high-quality, affordable, and comprehensive health coverage for nearly 30 million seniors and individuals with disabilities across the country. It is critical that our elected leaders in Washington continue stand up for Medicare Advantage and the millions who rely on it,” said the Coalition for Medicare Choices.
Rep. Kim has been an unwavering voice for seniors’ access to health care during her time in Congress, including:
- Urging Department of Health Secretary Becerra to protect Medicare Advantage;
- Helping introduce the Homecare for Seniors Act to allow seniors to use funds from their Health Savings Account to pay for homecare services;
- Voting to prevent Medicare sequestration cuts;
- Signing onto the Improving Seniors’ Timely Access to Care Act of 2021 to improve transparency of Medicare Advantage plans; and,
- Supporting the bipartisan Medicare Economic Security Solutions Act to cap unfair late Medicare enrollment fees on Americans that defer enrollment after turning 65.
