Rep. Young Kim

Mar 3, 2022 | Press Releases

Del Rio, TX – U.S. Representative Young Kim (CA-39) will travel to the U.S.-Mexico border on Thursday, March 3 with a group of Republican colleagues to see firsthand the ongoing national security, humanitarian and public health crisis and hear from those on the front lines.

“The crisis on our Southern border is straining our frontline resources, hurting U.S. communities across the country, undermining legal immigration, endangering migrants and empowering drug cartel organizations. I visited our border in California and in Texas last April, and the situation has only gotten worse since,” said Congresswoman Kim. “I am looking forward to visiting with border patrol, CBP officers, as well as local landowners and community leaders to hear what they are seeing each day and what we can do in Congress to support them. I will continue to work to secure our border, support legal immigration and keep communities safe. I hope Democrats and the Biden administration do the same.”

Congresswoman Kim visited our U.S.-Mexico border both at the San Ysidro Port of Entry in California and with the Problem Solvers Caucus in Mission, TX last year. In an op-ed for Fox News, Congresswoman Kim outlined how “the administration’s lack of a plan is exacerbating the border crisis, straining resources everywhere from the border to communities I represent in California’s 39th District.”

Congresswoman Kim will leave on Thursday, March 3, 2022 and is scheduled to return on Saturday, March 5, 2022. This trip is sponsored by Republican Main Street Partnership.
