Rep. Young Kim Hosts Veterans Roundtable

Sep 20, 2021 | Press Releases, Veterans

Brea, CA – On Friday, Congresswoman Young Kim (CA-39) hosted a veterans’ roundtable in Brea with Veterans Affairs Committee Ranking Member Mike Bost (IL-12). The roundtable featured local veteran leaders and gold star parents from California’s 39th District, and the group discussed a variety of topics such as expanding access to health care for veterans, as well as creating a Veterans Cemetery in Anaheim Hills and a Veterans Hospital in Orange County.

“California’s 39th District is home to more than 27,000 military veterans who bravely answered the call to serve in our nation’s uniform and put themselves in harm’s way to protect our freedoms. We must have their backs as they had ours,” said Congresswoman Kim. “Hearing directly from local veterans, community organization leaders and gold star families across Orange, Los Angeles and San Bernardino counties allows me to fight for them in Congress and ensure their voices are heard. I appreciate Ranking Member Bost for taking the time to join us and look forward to working with him and my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to deliver results.”

“It was such an honor to join my friend, Rep. Kim, for a roundtable discussion with veterans and community leaders in Southern California,” said Ranking Member Bost. “We have made significant strides over the past few years to improve services at VA. But in order for us to build on those successes, it is vitally important to hear directly from veterans like those Rep. Kim invited to meet with us. I thank her for inviting me to participate in this important discussion. I look forward to continuing our mission together on behalf of the men and women who have served.”
