Rep. Young Kim Speaks on House Floor.

Aug 24, 2021 | Economy, Press Releases

Washington, DC – Today, U.S. Representative Young Kim (CA-39) opposed the $3.5 trillion partisan budget rushed to the House floor through the reconciliation process.

Congresswoman Kim spoke on the House floor urging her colleagues to oppose this expensive, partisan budget that would raise taxes and increase prices for American taxpayers.

“Now is the time for Congress to show it can work together for the American people. Unfortunately, as our economy recovers from the COVID-19 pandemic and Americans across the country see higher prices everywhere from the grocery store to the gas pump, Democrats are again bypassing bipartisanship and moving forward with a partisan, $3.5 trillion budget through the reconciliation process,”said Congresswoman Kim. “This budget reconciliation would increase prices, raise taxes by over $600 on average for individuals in California’s 39th District, and take even more money out of taxpayers’ pockets. I will continue to do all I can to make life more affordable for workers and families I represent.”

The $3.5 trillion budget reconciliation is opposed by several organizations, such as:

  • National Taxpayers Union
  • Small Business and Entrepreneurship Council
  • U.S. Chamber of Commerce
  • National Federation of Independent Business
