Washington, DC – Today, U.S. Representative Young Kim (CA-39) was selected to serve on the House Committee on Science, Space and Technology. Thrilled by the news, Rep. Kim released the following statement:
“American innovation has allowed our nation to lead on the world stage. From life-saving vaccines to groundbreaking technologies, the ability for the U.S. to research and develop new, innovative tools is absolutely vital for future American competitiveness. The Science, Space and Technology Committee will be at the forefront of creating policies that promote innovation, ensure consumer safety and empower bright, creative minds to help launch America to future generations of success. California’s 39th District is leading the way in this effort through our institutions of higher education, high tech and aerospace manufacturing and more, and I look forward to adding my voice to these important, bipartisan discussions as a member of the Science, Space and Technology Committee,” said Kim.
“I’m proud to welcome Congresswoman Kim to the Science Committee. She has a history of strong support for increased STEM resources in classrooms and she’s committed to empowering our students and teachers. She also recognizes the importance of maintaining a thriving academic research enterprise in California and at universities across America. I’m looking forward to working with her this Congress to ensure the U.S. remains the leader in science and technology,” said Science, Space and Technology Lead Republican Frank Lucas (OK-03).
