Washington, DC – Today, U.S. Representative Young Kim (CA-39) was selected by the Republican Steering Committee to serve on the House Committee on Small Business. Thrilled by the news, Rep. Kim released the following statement:

“Small businesses employ nearly half of California’s workforce and continue to face unprecedented challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic. As someone who ran my own small business, I understand our small businesses are more than just statistics – people’s livelihoods are on the line. We must help our small business owners get back on their feet and provide for their families and our community for years to come. I look forward to doing exactly that and working in a bipartisan way on the Small Business Committee,” said Kim.

“Small businesses are the backbone of this great nation, and now more than ever, our hardworking men and women must be granted the opportunity to open their doors and contribute to the economy. I am excited to welcome Congresswoman Young Kim as a recommended new member of the House Committee on Small Business as I know she will be essential in defending Main Street from extensive regulations while ensuring responsible government assistance for our nation’s small businesses. As Lead Republican, I look forward to working alongside all of the members on this committee and fighting for America’s small businesses, entrepreneurs, and innovators,” said House Small Business Committee Lead Republican Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-03).
